Epilog

(When bad things happen to good planes)

This was the result of a mid-air collision. The other plane didn't have a scratch. The left wing broke off in mid-air as a direct result of the collision. Then the whole wing ripped out. The fuselage came down, striking a rock on the edge of the pond at Fordham field. The motor was found under the mud, in the pond, and was completely destroyed. The plane was floating in the pond. The receiver and servos survived. Ironically, the downed airplane locator beacon (buzzer) was under water. It doesn't work...and it never did. (10/18/2003)
